China_dairy_productsChina has started giving indications of putting ban on Indian products due to latter’s restrictive action on Chinese dairy products.
In a recent move, India decided to extend the ban on milk and milk products from China by six months from June 24 to December 24.

According to a letter addressed to Indian embassy by general administration of quality control bureau of China, “During the period of financial crisis, we are strongly against trade protectionism of any form. As a member of BRIC and WTO, we hope your party determines the prohibition towards Chinas dairy products ASAP, in the spirit of safeguarding bilateral trade “. As informed by an official from Trade and commerce ministry, China has voiced concerns about the quality of certain imports from India such as seafood, sesame oil and dairy products. As an argument to cause India to remove the ban, China said that appropriate measures were taken by the country after the milk scandal. These attempts caused other countries like Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Chile to lift the ban.
Also, China has asked India to provide scientific basis for enforcing the restrictive action on its products.
